When changing your diabetic dog from his usual Hill's PRESCRIPTION DIET w/d to the new formula, in addition to monitoring the progress of his diabetes, we recommend you make a gradual transition (about 7 days) between the two foods.

If your dog is eating Hill's PRESCRIPTION DIET w/d due to a condition that requires low fat levels in the diet, we recommend switching to Hill's PRESCRIPTION DIET i/d Low Fat, also making a gradual transition of 7 days.
